Just Proves the Point that to most of the Companies Operating today,Drivers are just an Expendable Commodity.
allniter Thanks this. -
other than the increase, the fact that out of the millions of truck drivers driving millions of miles every year, only 635 died in large truck crashes to me says something about the overall safety of truck driving
thats basically 2 per day, which is up from the 530 the previous year. Is it due to lighter trucks? more plastic? i leave it to the experts to determine
and i wonder of those 530 or 635 was the seatbelt/no seatbelt instrumental in the death of the driver/occupantcowboy_tech Thanks this. -
Really? That's what you took from this story?
-
maybe it could have something to do with the mega companys running teams.
-
maybe its because so much roll-control, lane-control, HOS control, but the actual cab is less safe than ever
-
Maybe it is electronic logs forcing drivers to drive tired.

Mayb it all the crap drivers carry loose in the cab and on the dash. It all becomes your worst situation in an accident. Also co-driver frequently do not use the resistant system in the sleeper.

We lose 11 people per day from using cell phones while driving small vehicles.
I wish they would break it down on what caused the deaths, did the cab collapse or did they get killed from objects flying around inside the truck, or did the load come forward and crush the cab?
