It's a Pete with Paccar quality left on the factory floor instead of being built-in. They seem to have a lot of problems... comment from my FM is they are "shop hogs." I think someone may have got rid of this machine if it only has 86k on it. You may be looking at a tractor that has a history of problems. Can you get at the maintenance history - take the vin no. to Peterbilt, and ask to see it? Downloading the ECM at the shop is a good idea too.

    Rotten Thanks this.

I wouldn't touch a Pete with a 20 foot pole for this job. There is a reason Prime is dropping the Pete from the fleet...... (I'm a poet :biggrin_2559:) In one week in July there were 15 of 18 Petes from my fleet that were all in the shop. Not a good track record.

Cascadias have their foibles, but there are not as bad or pervasive as the petes. Throw centramatics and new gas shocks on a Cascadia and it rides smooth as anything.

Get that Pete with the coolness factor, go buy your Pete hat, get some Pete chrome, maybe a new steering wheel and gear shift lever, fancy wheel caps, and at least it will look cool in the shop.

The Military still operates on the premise of "Hurry up and wait".

My recruiter told me that they have the brand new pete model too. Don't know which that is, guessing it's el junko too? Never had a pete so I can't say either way.

They are a commercial contractor who operates the warehouse for the military. Actually, they seem to be somewhat more on the ball at the Norfolk location than any of their other warehouses.

Hey snowman, make sure you get a copy of you DA348 before you get out, that and your 214 may start you at a higher pay rate with some companies
