I was trying to get some advice on getting back on as a driver after being unemployed for 8 months after being terminated at con-way for a flipped back trailer on a set of doubles, this happened right outside my jobs property, i was not ticketed and i did not recieve any ciatations , the police were called and wrecker service as well. My question is when filling out apps for driving jobs do i put this accident on my app, i have asked several drivers and i get different anwsers, but for the most part everyone has said just be honest so i have been & i beleive this is hurting me to get a job . I have pulled up my driving record ,DAC report and PSP report & their is nothing on there , i got a speeding ticket in 2011 had it dropped to only 3mph over the limit & was told that it would be on my driving record but it was no where to be found so this is another thing i have stopped putting on my apps. Can i make up a reason for being fired at my last job other than putting i was terminated for a flipped trailer , can i say i quit , what are my options ? I dont want to get caught in a lie , but like i said i have not had any job leads so far. Will con-way even say i was terminated to my future employers. Since i have not drove in 8 months do i need to take a refrsher course.I have about a year and a half to 2years driving exp. I would glady apprecite any advice or recomendations for my situation ,thank you in advance.

Yes Conway will say you were terminated. Yes they will more then likely say you flipped over a trailer. Yes not telling the truth on your applications is worse then saying you were in an accident. Maybe you need to lower your standards for trucking companies you are applying too. To get experience because most companies don't like to hire people who have been terminated or have had accidents recently. Try Raider Express out of Ft.Worth Texas they might give you a shot. Stevens transport or FFE.

Keep putting in online applications, something will happen. State the incident was a set of doubles and it happened as you were leaving the terminal & no citations.

    Bekins (Coppell,TX)
    Paschall Truck Lines
    Navajo
    Mesilla Valley Transportation
    Pather Expedite

If these don't work for you, Google : truck driving jobs & apply with one application at each website. They will search for you at no charge.
Some companies may require refresher course. Several schools offer this including Swift.

Be honest on your applications. List what they ask for, but don't go out of the way with extra information. The only thing worse than not getting a call back from a company you applied to, is going to orientation, sitting through a couple of days of BS, and then having the safety department say 'NO' after you've wasted days or weeks trying to get on with this company.
Most of these companies pre-screen applications somewhat before they bring you into orientation.
The recruiter is anxious to fill the seats in orientation, he does the minimal checking he has to do.
You're not safe until you leave orientation with your butt parked in a drivers seat.

    Dinomite Thanks this.
