At the J just north of Bakersfield.

Down to 5:50 on my 70 with nothing coming off til Sunday. I totaled up my miles driven since last Saturday (when I came off of a 34 in Laredo), 3642! No wonder I'm tired and out of hours. Since I passed on every load I saw on Mac 30 (headed east over Donner....where it's snowng...no thanks) it's begining to look like I'm stuck here til Sunday.

I was there this morning around 07:00 mountain time, had I known I would have taken my 10 there instead of on exit 19 so I could pick your brain.

Gaffney, SC. After this run, this will be the last heavy load that I bring this way, due to, mpg, mph, hos and just stupid people in this area and the congestion. Also, I-85 beating the heck out of my truck. Watched my mpg drop from 7.1 to 6.8 already, and still have to get to Richmond and then up to PA. Any load offer or ppla that is heavy keeping me on the east coast will be swiftly dealt with, no, nado, zero.

Still at the J north of Bakersfield, except now I only have 2:08 on my 70......and I'm loaded.

Long story short: Ended up taking a load I passed on 3 times (on Mac 30) before it vanished. Guard (at Best Buy) couldn't figure out why all the Swiftys were showing up @ 4:00 am to pick up loads that could have been picked up ANY TIME before Monday morning. Crackhead planners strike again!

So now I have 2 1/2 days to run a 827 mile load (not counting today...no hours). I have some options, just not sure if I'm willing to use them.

    Squeak,

If you think I-85 is rough (and I don't remember it as rough) then you obviously haven't been on I-55 in Arkansas lately. We're talking PAINT SHAKER, the way ALL of I-40 used to be.

And the other things you talk about are why I prefer to run out west.

Ohh, I know that section of I-55 in Arkansas. Mostly it is real rough with the tandems almost all the way to the rear. Taking a large hit. I-85 in SC is quite rough. I remember I-40 very well.

I don't know ... the Grapevine is pretty bad in California. I've just accepted that there is some rough road and some good road where ever. Just run me where there's freight and cheap fuel.

    On the 40 in TN.
