I've never paid for one, the company always paid. On the plus side if a company wants you to pay and your bound and determined to drive for them then it can be written off of your taxes as a business expense.
-
Chain of custody. Company pays. Had driver get it done and and we had to redo it.
-
I don't think there is any legal requirements for who pays. But I've never paid for a drug test. I can't say I'd walk if a company I was hiring on with wanted me to pay for the test, but there would have to be a VERY compelling deal involved to keep me interested.

Fedex custom not only makes you pay for drug test, physical, qual com install, and signs.for all that you will not make that much money with them
-
Forget about who pays for the test. I want to know why you have to go to the test center on your time and use your vehicle (local drivers).
-
There are exceptions to that rule. I was on paid company time when I took my drug test.
-
I was the "dedicated random guy" with one company I was with. I didnt really mind as when I pulled into the yard one of the owners threw me the keys to her red porsch to run down and get it.
-
My carrier's always paid for it... prehire and random. They've never had a problem with using the tractor to get to the test site either.
-
Needs to be ordered and scheduled by carrier. But they can make you pay for it.
