most won't pay the over weight, just the CAT scale ticket. if they say run with it then they will. that was back before the new points crap.
they may pay and deduct it from your pay however.

It is not important if you are--or--are not the driver. This is the correct answer in a nutshell, DO NOT break the law. This forum is conflicting but over-weight tickets DO GO ON YOUR CSA-2010.
IF you do, at the direction of a company representative, say-- agree to haul a heavy load, you have conspired (with him or her) to commit a crime, and then commit the crime when you haul the load. That is the nutshell:
You can not be forced to break the law. If you do pull the heavy load it is your problem. If a dispatcher tell you to haul it and they will pay the ticket, and for any of 900 reasons you agree, tell them to send that to you on Qual-comm--or text it to you. They probably will not do that in which case just refuse to break the law. If you get stopped and get a ticket you have to take immediate steps to ensure it will get paid and follow up, like a rabid dog, to ensure it is paid by the company. You M-U-S-T keep a copy of the ticket and a copy (provided by the company) of proof of payment. You can also send this to the authority that issued the ticket on your own. You SHOULD make a copy of the ticket and payment record and send it to yourself in an email so you can get it at a later date.
You can get a notice from a state authorized collection agency several years after receiving a ticket stating it was not paid. Companies keep records of such things a far shorter time and the buck still stops at you. IF anyone reading this thinks, or has been led to believe, that over-weight tickets do not go on the CSA2010 "Pre-Employment" screening record just go to:
    https://www.psp.fmcsa.dot.gov/psp/default.aspx
and for 10 bucks buy and save your report.
