Well, while looking through some old albums, I came across many old pictures of wolves. My wife and I had gone on picture safaris at Wolf Park, in Battleground,IN and had taken three albums worth! So while browsing through, I picked a few to post. Whaddya think?

Oh and BTW, gotta love REAL film photos!

Gal has known her share of 'wolves' in her life! J/K

But, there was a special on one of the Discovery Chs filmed by 2 Naturalists (who later married) about the society of wolves. Followed a pack for years. It was both touching & 'hard'---one wolf, naturally submissive, was the pack 'clown' and got picked on a lot. That wolf would separate herself (?) from the pack sometime (probably for 'relief!") and go off alone, but not too far away! Apparently, a cougar killed that wolf when she was alone! When the pack discovered the dead wolf, they went into 'severe mourning,' because that wolf had a very important part in nurturing the pack!! Interesting, huh?:biggrin_25511:

    I think I saw it
    Anyway
The one I saw surprised me how they run in packs but there is allot of fighting in the pack
Members were killed by other family members
And others were kicked out only to die later alone
    Hard life

It's a "dog eat dog' world, alright!

They tried introducing wolves back into the wilderness in East-Central/White Mountains in AZ---but they keep migrating to livestock ('easier kill') instead of wild prey. Eventually, ranchers kill them as they do....need those wolves to take out the over-population of deer out there running into big trucks/cars! ha ha :yes2557:But how..?

I saw that special (or at least one like it) if it was the one by the Dutchers (husband and wife researchers). And you ain't kidding Baack, wolves have a hard life; I remember the alpha female was almost killed (attacked and left for dead) by the lower ranking females in the pack.
