Jerri said pretty much the same exact thing.. That she's been at IRT answering phones for more then a few years, and they've tried it more then twice, and it always end up falling apart after a couple months. I ask'd her if it had anything to do with the favoritism, and she said it had everything to do with it.. Ya can't put a person in-charge of a driver that has almost as much pull as the owners son. The moment he doesn't get what he wants the first thing he's going to do is go over your head. I just laugh'd.

you learn to deal with it no matter how annoying it is, and when you get stuck on the same short loads in the north east you say get me something better or im quiting that always worked for me.

i really don't care what the other guy does, i don't really care who he has in his pocket either.. all i run is the North East and the benefit to that is no one wants to run up here. They'll be here for a few days but after that they're gone. So i stay rolling. Been kinda slow lately because one of the customers i run to on a regular in Canada is trying to "refill" their silo's after Sandy took out the port and they burnt through all of their product in two weeks. So now when ever i get there to unload there's about six trucks in front of me, and it's a 2.5hr unload per truck. It's not killing my pocket any because i'm still turning 2k mi a week and i have two border crossings. My checks aren't as good as they use to be but i'll survive.

As soon as they get their silos full then it'll go back to normal and i'll be able to start knocking out my four runs a week plus repowers. I Personally don't have an issue with the "Good Ole Boy" deal they have going. I just know that there's a driver somewhere in the country, maybe two or three that's getting kick'd to the side because someone's "Buddy" doesn't want a particular run, and wants another one instead. When drivers cherry pick, other's get trampled on. So if you can think of a time when you had to sit because they said there was no freight, you most likely had a load, but a buddy got it instead. As always, we're our own worst enemies.

I would have to agree with most of that. If the northeast is your cup of tea then more power to ya because I hate running up there and hate the attitudes of the people who live up there even more. I don't really know how to explain it but anyone who's been there knows what I'm talking about. As for the favoritism and whatnot, frankly I prefer the way I was treated when they played favorites, as opposed to the driver manager crap that's going on now. Nobody talked to me like I was punk when they played favorites. I didn't get the loads I wanted most of the time, but nobody was tightly wound and nobody talked to me like a child. That isn't the case at all with some of these new guys. The guys who were the quickest on the draw when it came to calling in got the best selection of loads to choose from. First come first serve. I personally see nothing wrong with that. I think if you're trying to get to a particular area then you should bug the #### out of em until they send you there is pretty much what it boils down to. You have to stay on them anytime there's something you want, or you will not do well here. The freight isn't very consistent, there's a lot of up and down. But there's enough there to keep me satisfied. Let them play favorites all they want. It's their freight and their equipment and no one is forcing anyone to work here. If there's anyone working here who can't deal with the fact that they're not gonna get their way most of the time, let em quit. That's the way it is in life, and that's the way it is at this company. I don't like the fact that I'm being sent to Wisconsin from Georgia with a load that picks up exactly one week before my first day of hometime, after being gone almost 3 months. But you know what, when I get up there I'm gonna hound dispatch and about getting a load back to Florida until I get one and I'm not gonna let up until they do. That's the way things roll around here.

the 440mi in the system is how it's set originally under that trip number.. once the next driver picks it up, they have to redispatch it under the same trip number, but with different orgin, and different load'd/mty miles. I doubt it was me that repower'd ya.. did you have to wait long? We could have load'd at the same time, but i've been going to Pickering, and Peterborough lately so i wouldn't have went to Ft. Erie to cross, I cross over at Lansdowne on I81.
