the difference in the one i posted as opposed to the fatboy, davemade, texas star, etc is the new ones are designed to work with much less amperage. you can wire them in and use a cig lighter plug and it wont overload the socket.

I don't know if he has the electrical system to deal with the amperage draw of that 2X6.

I looked at the link in Cadillacdudes other reply and they look like a cheap chinese knock off the the RM Italy amps.

All amps will give you the output to get you out at further distances but they do nothing at pulling in weaker signals without increasing the noise which means it would be hard to hear what anyone is trying to tell you.

    fisher guy Thanks this.

No, not at all, you can do what you want with your own gear.....Actually it might be a good idea to dispose of CB amps in this manner, otherwise it may end up in the hands of someone who would drive it with a 'Peaked & Tuned " radio with a d-104 up so far that it would pick up a fart from their neighbor's house.

Well, they say there's more fish in the sea, so I don't know about all that, but I do know this. Most, if not all CB that were built with the intended audience to be CB operators, are garbage. They build them cheap and sell them high. They splatter and distort over the air, have little to no filtering and don't last worth a darn. Lesson learned...been down this road many times.
