Saweet mushroom...tell us how she pans out for ya......

Matt...I wasn't trying to be a know it all... but Diamler Benz bought out Detroit Diesel and Freightliner along with western star....The New Detroits aren't like the old ones....they are basically mercedes engines with a little more american horsepower...the europeans have been running EGR and DEF for years so Diamler brought that experience to the table.....not all detroits are bad...I worked on many an Army truck and I will say the Hemmitt engines which are Detroit 8v92s were some of the best engines out there but are all non EGR...EGR caused alot of problems before the advent of the SCR systems....which Detroits seem to work good....I think most of our problems are because we Idle in the summer...the Modern Diesel engine isn't designed to Idle for long periods...it causes all kinds of havoc with the after treatement systems......

Mic, no problem regarding information, as they say when stop learning your dead. I, like yourself, have previous diesel experience working for Cummins back in '80's, thing were different then. So in short, the Germans perfected the system, seems logical look at there cars.

Mushroom, congrats on your new ride, keep us posted.

Have fun with the weather mushroom, from what I heard the next few days are going to be rough. I finally stopped in Belgrade, MT last night just as it was starting to snow. From Belgrade to Columbus was a sheet of ice/packed snow, but on top of Bozeman was just a soupy mess where supposedly the sand trucks had a field day up there! Around Big Timber was the worst & I had one of Chicago's finest blow my doors off doing at least 60 when I was doing 40 just trying to keep her in a straight line. About 5 miles down I saw that they had jackknifed into the ditch so I pulled over to make sure they were alright since no first responders were there and when I walked up to the door those two goofballs were scrambling to get their log books updated before The Man showed up. They said they were alright so I just went about my business. Let me know if you have any questions about any of those ice cream drops, most of the ones I've done don't have parking but there's a few that have some hidey holes close by. Have a safe trip!

Lol i don't know where they are digging those "chicago's finest" drivers up from, or what the deal is with so many of these eastern europeans all of a sudden driving trucks....the do some of the dumbest #### out here on the road! I talked to one that sounded like he'd been here in the u.s. for a long time, so he was the exception, of course when the subject went to the future mandatory e-logs, he sounded like he was going to be exempt! I guess they will found out the hard way when the DOT really starts getting after them and the "chameleon" companies they work for.

Spyder, those crazy "eastern europeans" are pursuing the American dream and hauling cheap freight, just like our friends from the south. Bottom line, most Americans do not want to drive a truck, they want a corner office and a BMW. The future of our country, good luck.

We got one sitting in the county jail now that rolled his rig on 70 and killed two women last month. Some articles written about the increase in foreign drivers that can't communicate with officers here locally. He said he cant remember what happened.

Pulled into the Mother-ship last night with 11 minutes left on my 14 hour clock...long day. Need to get my "A" service this morning as well as get the leak fixed in my left rear drive tires. I also have a CD stuck in the radio that I hope they can get out without destroying it since its a rare Dolly Parton Live album.

I've done a lot of sitting the last four days since my breakdown on Thursday. But on the bright side, Mike was more than fair on the break down pay. I hope to be back out by late morning and home by Sunday for the holiday. We're moving into our new house over the holiday, anyone want to stop by and help move furniture? Its not a huge move, just across the street...LOL!
