Noob, requesting company comparison.

Well I was supposed to start with USA truck next week I originally applied for PAM but then I found out its only team. I do not want team I want solo. So my driver solutions recruiter switched me to USA truck (or so he told me). It seems both trucking companies go through "driver solutions" http://www.greatcdltraining.com/default.aspx. And those recruiters are dishonest. I told my recruiter lets call him D, I was no longer interested in PAM because I want SOLO so he told me he switched me to USA truck instead as they are solo. After investigating USA truck (even though they have financial troubles) they seem to be a good company. All of my background and employment was approved for USA truck so I was supposed to call "D" at driver solutions back today to finalize my school start date. I load the driver solution page and notice that "D" has switched me back to PAM from USA truck. As I'm talking to the guy he never mentions this to me. I then ask him why did you switch me back to PAM..?? And he says something along the lines of "Oh.. um well that's the one one that you ended up having to go with.. um because USA truck doesn't accept unemployment as employment history because unemployment is unverifiable". (I was on unemployment for about a year prior to this). I feel that he is lying and has switched me back to PAM for his own financial ends. The man was evasive, shady and generally dishonest throughout this whole process and was only out to make a buck. I don't know what I'm going to do now.. I'm not going to work for PAM. The trucking industry is failing because dishonesty and greed and money at any cost have become the driving factors.. you can draw some parallels with many other industries IE wall street. Very angry and and disappointed right now.

 

Unemployment IS verifiable.. and I faxed him all my unemployment paycheck stubs...

 

Unless something I signed on their website caused that then no. And I dont believe it did.

 

Yea man I know.. whats upsetting is I don't believe USA truck wasn't an option. The man switched it at the last moment most likely because the headhunter fee was higher for PAM. Its not easy to get on with a decent company starting out and USA is one of the few. I had it locked in but no longer because of yet another dishonest DBAG. I'm going to find out if USA truck truly doesn't hire people people coming in off of unemployment. If that's not true I'll be speaking with that recruiters supervisor and getting the job I applied for as well as making sure hes called out for his dishonesty. I'm the wrong guy to try to play.
