I was honest with them about some past health history which resulted in an annual rather than bi-annual renewal interval. In the response from the student recruiter, I caught a hint of 'oh-oh'. But I'd rather they know everything now instead of after I get to Marshfield. Just have to see.
Anyone else had, or heard about someone having, an issue about not being able to be cleared for physical's every two years?

Right here, and there are many. Don't sweat it too much as long as its nothing major. If you are cleared for a year you should be ok. It's when you only get a 3 month one that is a really big pain.

Oh yeah! I had received a 2 year med card from my family doc in July. But when Roehl sent me to their doc, he only gave me a 1 year card because I'm on BP med. I read the regs and if I remember correctly, they can issue a 1 year card when they don't know all the history behind the need/reason for the BP meds. In my case, I've been on it for MANY years, so I'm not sweating it. If I have to go with 1 year cards, so be it!

I'm a one year card too. No worries.

The doc who did my physical gave me a 1 year card as well, BP (stable on meds) and OSA (stable with CPAP). I'd been instructed to bring proof of OSA being under control and that was a good thing - doc said without that I'd get either no card or only a 3 month card. He said that a lot of people these days have 1 year cards.

Good to know. Thanks. Actually, it's my 2nd DOT physical in 4 months. First, in August, was to enter a community college CDL program but Roehl required one of their own. So, not problem. Just checking and, thanx to the answers, it seems like everything is o.k. I really appreciate the feedback. Happy Christmas to all and a safe and profitable 2013.
Of course, that's all presuming that everyone is still around on December 22, 2012.

I always had a 2yr medical card from my previous employer. I was a route sales guy and the company I was with wanted all employees to get DOT physicals. I went to Roadmaster and got a 2yr there as well. Then I went to my physical for Roehl and I get a 6 month because they think I need a sleep study because my neck is 18" and being a little overweight....I hope Roehl pays for that.

I have 3 one year cards, one from Roehl in April, one from NFI in July and another one from Roehl in November, does that mean I'm good till 2015? Of course if the Mayans are right I guess it doesn't matter LOL
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
New to this board as far as messaging, but have read good, bad, and ugly over the past month. Going national van with Roehl, was set for orientation in Appleton, but between setting up the DOT physical and getting their results, Roehl moved me to the civic wonderland known as Gary, Indiana. Starting Dec. 31st--any others going to Gary for orientation on that date?
