Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

Do you mean System Transport?
-
No-System Freight-they have red macks and are based out of NJ.

Their offering a signing bonus... think about it... they can't get people!!
-
Around here they're advertising a $4,000 sign on bonus spread over 24 months. Here's the kicker...they don't answer applications, or return phone calls. I'd imagine it's hard to hire on people when you don't communicate. I see them around a lot. Red day cabs, I've seen Mack Visions, Volvos, and Sterlings, all pulling 53' dry boxes. They seem to be in decent shape, and they pass me (I'm governed at 62)

Thanks. I'm trying to find a local job in upstate NY.Looking to move back to NY.
What's up with the sign on bonus?
Are they that bad?Last edited: Dec 19, 2012

Local jobs in upstate NY...well, depending on where you're looking, there are a few. Lots of retail/store delivery (CVS DC in Chemung, Best Buy DC in Nichols, both Ryder accounts), lots of foodservice (Willow Run, Maines, Reinhart, DOT Foods, and others). Also if you have hazmat, UPS Freight and Fedex are both advertising locally.
Don't know about their culture, but to me a $4,000 sign on says they're desperate. Can't be that desperate if I can't get any response back from sending them an application :-/DOTrevenuepatrol Thanks this. -
I was looking to go back to the Syracuse area.

I will give you the quick run down on System Freight if you want...
Syracuse: you will be working for a company called Rock Tenn delivering corragated cardboard... thats all they do. You may have to deliver to NYC at times and even deliver to Deer Park Long Island... Large Rolls of Paper.
I have the rate sheets for deliveries as you get paid by the load not the hour. Also the first hour of waiting time is free then you get 16 bucks an hour for sitting. But if you have multiple stops then each stop comes with 1 hour of wait time so if you make a delivery and it takes 15 minutes then go to your next stop and wait 2 hours you get nothing because you have 2 stops... hence saving the company 16 bucks.
You may have to start as a yard jockey first... that pays 17.10 an hour but you only get that if you do the jockey time in increments of 1 hour so if you work the yard for 50 minutes ... YOU GET NOTHING.
Equipment is ok... dont expect your AC to work in the summer.
Expect to work 12 hours a day... their theory is to have every driver work an average of 10.5 hours a day.
You will be an OTR driver that goes home everyday.
Call the home office and ask to speak to Kenny... he will get you started. Good luck you will not work for them for more than 1 year so keep looking out there. -
I've hauled a whole lot of Rock Tenn rolled paper, albeit on a flatbed. I would absolutely not haul thoses rolls in a van without some compelling method of securement. The rest of your post makes me a bit wary...they sound quite a bit like Ryder Integrated Logistics.
