Don't play favorites, if you have a driver that's a major kiss ###.....the last thing I want to see is him getting a brand new truck every year and special treatment. That will push me out the door faster than driving a crappy truck

Option of being home every weekend. And I don't mean home for a 34 hr reset to be back out on sunday night. I mean the whole #### weekend. Most accounts don't ship on weekends anyway.

    Agree.

Only problem now is no matter how many times you tell them they can't grasp that there's a character limit and you don't even get the entire message.

Which is great for us like me who get home weekly, want the whole weekend and dont want to bother with facilities that cannot cut products off an overweight trailer because they are closed on the weekend.

But, what ever happened to choice? If I worked for someone that was always available 7 days a week I might not feel the way I do.

I used to feel the way you do , I still feel 90% of it I'm in support of. The big thing is , the Company must see profit . I was with Jevic 7.5 yrs running LTL 10 stoppers and 400 miles start to mty.
49cpm $15 per stop , at the end of the day I grossed $346 , had everything work like a fine tuned engine , starting at 0600 and mtying at 1645. I actually had an 11th stop on , and if he was willing to hang around til 5:30 pm , I could have made $30 more and been done by 1800.
Jevic's long gone , home every weekend and I hit 60k p yr the final 4 yrs I was there . The worst thing about great companies are when they can't hold their own.
Even as I knew they were on the verge the last 10 months , I made calls 2 or 3 a week. Same old thing best we be able to get ya in at is maybe 42K and if ya stay out regularly 2.5 to 3wks + it could be more like 45/46K.
Pay out the miles driven and pay drivers for time they put forth toward addressing mechanical issues or breakdowns.
Pay us after 2 hrs at a customer regardless if the company has decided unwisely , to give this big account a free ride on the detention. Us drivers should not be taken advantage of because of the desperate measures used to out bid the competition. And all we give up for the Trucking company , as we leave behind family for a couple weeks , to not get paid on at least , Christmas , Memorial day , 4th of July , and Thanksgiving is just as cold as cold will get.

I am looking for all answers. I have worked in every aspect of the transportation industry from forklift driver to dispatch to warehouse manager to otr driver to trailer spotter. I try very hard to remember what it is like to do all of those jobs so i can help the people that do those jobs for me now. I push very hard for the safety and the respect of all my drivers. I work for them and try to live up to their expectations. The more information I can get from them and from other drivers like yourself, the better and more effectivly i can do my job. Thank you for your imput.

[EZ Money]Some of the perks with my company is we get to keep our truck at home, our pay is always correct and direct deposit.
We have 401k,health,dental and vision at a low price for the driver.
No idle rules, paid off the trucks actual miles not that practical mile BS.
We get one paid hotel per week and home every weekend and sometimes a night during the week.
No Quallcom or tracking devices on the trucks.
All trips are dedicated accounts and pre-planned a week in advance.
And the biggest thing i like is our trucks are not castrated.

What company do you work for?
