idiling

    got to work yesterday a driver was swearing at the clerk about not enforcing the no idle law.said he spent over $50.00 at the truckstop and couldn't get any sleep.he was a swift driver.

    no idling at the truck stop? what planet was he on where he thought that was part of the law?

    Someone asked me to turn off my Truck in AZ last year in 120* heat. He got the "look"from me and went back to his truck. Yeah..I'll shut it off just for you baby..:biggrin_2559:

    Wow. Just wow.


    It's a freaking truck stop. I don't think I've EVER stayed at a truck stop that didn't have idling trucks. Especially in the south. I know some guys on here that don't shut their truck off until they go back home.

    I'm not a big fan of idling but it's part of the business. Some people just need something to complain about.

    Sounds like a guy who just isn't cut out for trucking. Any driver with any sense knows that some drivers idle their trucks. Swift even ALLOWS their own drivers to do it for comfort and safety.

    If he doesn't want to hear trucks idling at night, he should consider another career path. Like underwater basket-weaving.
