I feel ya moose. I drove about 10 miles on ice today (the interstate was the only thing that was plowed). After crawling through that I saw the side of my trailer more than I like to remember. Moving mt with these winds is just crazy; I wouldn't do it again.

Talk about seeing the side of your trailer... We were heading North on 25 out of Denver... ICY and blowing snow... Going 35 tops... Got our doors blown off by a Central passing us... They were at the Loves at exit 7 in WY... It was a student with his trainer... What the HECK are they teaching these students!! What ever happened to SLOWING down?? HOLY (--------)!

This is why there were so many trucks in the ditch today. Ive never seen so many accidents.
Lady K Thanks this. -
Well I'm stuck in the snow. I was so exhausted when I shut down that I didn't think at all about where I parked. The thing is, I got on Kraft to stay EAST of the Mississippi (and avoid the worst of winter). It doesn't seem to be working.

Glad I decided not to go back west. Left out of Virginia this morning hit Conley with a drop. As soon as hours are back I'm homeward.
Traffic though was awl full all the way bumper to bumper. 2 wrecks just 4 wheeler. seen not sure how many texting, reading a map, eating, and driving all at the same time. Crazy. -
Yah talk about bad weather. I got Central to agree to pay for the extra miles to go around i5. It took 6hrs to get close to Donner summit from Stockton. When I got to the chain up point I found there was only one chain on the trailer. The road was not bad so I figured I would run with one and try to sneek by chain control. Well that worked kinda when I got to the check point they had moved it 10 miles. Traffic was only going 5-8mph (with one 1/4 mile sprint of 25) aso I limp alond and get to the new chain up point and find the trailer chain has broken and is wrapped around the axel. Crazy. Now I know I cant get past chain control so I contact otrm. After 4 hrs I get told to drive back to Sac and pick up chains because it will be over 12 hrs for anyone to get to me. So I turn around and now i5 is open, but at least I have some fancy new chains.

Glad I'm not the only driver running in this crap! Ran up to Chicago the other night, let the storm blow by on I-80. Recapped 6 hours, tried to make the Iowa-80 truck stop... And nothing but ####### all morning! I have never seen so many big trucks in the ditch!! Slow down is right Lady K. But just a little common sense would be nice. If you are going to run below 20, go ahead and drive on the snowpack with your flashers on! Making 4-wheelers and the big trucks crazy enough to try it pass on the right is dangerous for everybody. I had to call 911 or a 4-wheeler who slammed into one of those posts on the side of the interstate when I went through Iowa early this morning. Kind of glad to be running nights in this weather. At least there is slightly less traffic. Now if I can just make it over the mountains tonight and tomorrow I'll be happy! Be careful all.

Arkansas, I am coming up behind you now. We stopped on the ice rink that has replaced the Iowa 80 parking lot. They say the bridges are icy, so I will take it easy, but if I don't head towards Denver, we won't be empty on Monday, which will mean we will be literally babysitting a military engine for Christmas.
