We officially got 14.2 inches in Dubuque. That amount of snow is bad enough without the 40+ mph wind.

Yep, I held up Thurs. at Bloomington,Il. It then took me 5 hours to get to Davenport. 1 stop to get coffee and chain up my tag.
was spinning out coming up the little hills on 74.
Then left Sat. for Mn. was still spotty untill I made Charles City.
I hope all your drivers made it safe to where they were headed.

I am nursing a bad rear end on the trk. and kept praying the whole time I made it up here with out it finally going out.

We were kind of coasting into Christmas anyway. I had plenty of guys that were off, or started their break early. No major issues. One driver spent about 24 hours in Walcott on his way to the Mason City area, then fought crappy roads all day Friday. He ended up getting unloaded Friday afternoon, but got to Waterloo about 50 minutes too late to load. He had to wait until Saturday morning. So he was in Walcott Wed night and didn't get home until Saturday morning. That was about the worst anyone had it. Thankfully, I did't have anyone around Des Moines. That seemed like the worst place to be.

Yeps Hors-19 passed me Wens. near Ft. Wayne, I was on another channel as I had a high pole with me..
That and my tarps were wanting to balloon out. Talked to him a few mins. on the radio..
It's nice here so far. They moved me up to class 1 and trust me..That's a good feeling.

I saw alot of trks. in the ditchs and in the middle. Most kept them upright..
Me, I was just slow and steady..

Slow and steady is the only way to do it when it gets to snowing and blowin like that, I left Sioux City across 20 Thursday afternoon it was awful the entire way to Center Point, IA where I slept, sometimes I wish they'd just shut the road down and not give me the choice, I feel like there would be a lot less havoc that way

Yep, but dispatch says if you can make it another 30 miles the roads are clear.:biggrin_25523:

    Yea clear this...
To many guys try and push it.
Me, I've had a few close calls over the years.
But I will allways use my judgement about the roads and weather.
I remember my first winter and the man I worked for. His words were you drive where you feel comfortable. You want to shut down do it. You want to run go ahead, just use your judgement, but if others are parked and you are out running and put it in the ditch, I will kick your arse...
