Yep, end of the year. Alot of companies see high rate of people leaving.
The better ones do not have that issue.
    Lower scale ones will.
    Happy Holidays

Why is that? I am currently considering a posting in my area's Craigslist. What would be wrong with taking it?

The megafleets have completely ruined online driver job sites. Nobody goes to those sites to apply at the same crappy companies that advertise in those truck stop freebie job-hopper magazines.

I've looked on the local sites around here, and every time I see something that looks like it might be something worth looking into, it turns out it's US Xpress of JB Hunt or something.

I've even seen them put deceptive ads in local newspaper classified ads. A few months ago I saw an ad that said something like "Local carrier looking for experienced CDL Class A drivers. 2 yrs exp required, top pay, benefits, blah blah blah". No company name was given. I Googled the phone number and it was some megafleet. I don't even remember which one cuz I immediately clicked the "X" and disregarded the ad.

Google the phone number and see what company it is before you even bother to call it.

Actually my experience with Craigs list was "head hunters", people claiming to represent USX and others, only to bring in warm bodies and collect a reward from that company. And even other drivers spam those lists, make up their own fake, real looking websites, to get the referral bonus for finding warm bodies. its a jungle out there, and only about the money on your head as a reward, a finders fee in reality, and nothing else.
