It is funny to read about all the electronic gadgets we use and can't be without these days. I was just thinking when I started driving in 1989 and I did not have a cell phone, gps, computer and e-reader. Seems like stuff got done too. Sometimes it was a pain in the behind, but sometimes I do wonder if all my new gadgets are helping me or just slowly drive me to loose my mind. I don't seem to have a day where I don't want to throw one or more of them out the window, but stop myself when I think about the money I spent on the darn thing.

Maybe I should look for an Amish Trucking company. I get a buggy and an aas to pull the buggy. At least I would not be the only aas on the rig:biggrin_25525:

I wish you guys all a Merry Christmas or any other holiday you celebrate or just enjoy yourself. Hope all goes well for the next year since we obviously have to go back to work since the world did not end.

I don't go a day that I don't want to through something out the window, phone, laptop, GPS, never my Kindle Fire.

We will be having Christmas in Hammond LA, weather is a balmy 77 and I hope it stays that way and we don't get the huge storm they are all talking about.

Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year.

the huge storm is rolling through at this very moment.

i came out on the road in 99. i DO NOT miss the way trucking was done back then.

msft was the only gps in town and it wasn't cheap.
    satellite radio was a rumor.
i'm pretty sure i was the only dude around that was tethering my laptop. very complicated process and air cards didn't exist.
and there wasn't many of us packing our satellite tv around.

I came out in Jan 98 and although I do enjoy some of the luxuries we have now there is a lot about the way things used to be that I REALLY MISS. My dad has been trucking my hole life so I grew up in and around it so the new era that we'er in is sometimes not easy to swallow. But as far as the gadgets go I love being able to talk/Skype with the family any time and the GPS well it's a love hate thing... LOL just my .02!
