Wife and I ran by the mall earlier tonight and my usual habit is to go to the not-so-easy-to-spot parking deck and head up to the second floor. This time there's a mall security truck blocking the entrance and some commotion up the ramp. It sank in as I rounded the corner for an alternate parking spot - that thing that didn't quite register on first glance. That being the back door of a rental moving van LOL. Yes those should never be seen on that ramp.

Not sure if he was a customer running up there to avoid carrying a large item down the stairs or a mall vendor carrying product. In any event, he either had to drive around the 6'-6" low clearance bars, or bounce them off his windshield on his way up. I'm sure the rental operator will be pleased when he turns it in.

We went back to the mall yesterday since we had forgotten about Sunday hours the day before when I spotted this Penske van with the custom roof.

It was still there at mid-day yesterday and they had the entire upper decks of the parking structure closed. On one of the busiest days of shopping. I'll bet the mall management was pleased with that development. There was a smaller roll back wrecker on the scene when I took the pic. I figured he'd flatten the tires and drag it out with his cable. They must've decided against that idea or it didn't work.

Maybe they were trying to get an engineer out to wave his degree at the beam that was struck and declare it safe. Odd that they were still parking cars on the ground level underneath the structure if that were the case.

I kept with my tradition and didn't start my shopping until noon on the 24th.
It's a lot easier now that I only have to buy something for my wife. Kids are easy....send a card with money.
They're are that age where they appreciate it most...mortgages, payments, children..etc, etc, etc.

Wow. That's only the second amusing accident I've seen from a Penske truck. The first being a full Penske big rig where the trailer attached had collapsed in the middle from a load of dirt. LOL.

So you don't need even a Class C license to drive something like this?
