You sure? I've hauled plenty of hazmat loads without placards. There are exemptions......such as the way it is packaged.
Imagine Strapping/Tarping this!

Driver? How do you wear your boot out, using a tire pressure gauge?
DocHoliday Thanks this. -
'96 or '97, I got stuck behind the (at the time) U.S. largest move on I-80, West of Salt Lake for about four hours. It was a 3,000,000lb autoclave going to a mine outside of Winnamucca. It had 300plus tires. 1monstrous off-road K-dub was pulling, another and 4 more regular sized road tractors were pushing it at 8 mph. It took 4 years to build the trailers and work out the routing and permits. Originally they were gonna send it by rail but after building the cars, the autoclave was set on it and the weight broke every railroad tie under it. So I had to wait behind it, putting along, until we came to an exit to go around it. A few months after that the trailer set in a dirt pull off up around Battle Mountain (if I'mremembering correctly) on 80. Then about 6 months later, going west bound on 50 in Nv., here comes an east bound bear, straddling the yellow line. I pull to the side, he slows down as he's going by and yells for me not to move until the trooper behind him tells me to. So I sit there waiting and here comes the trailer, now broken down into 4 or 5 units, but still taking up both lanes of 50 and then some.

Here's some Youtube video's of the move. It was a nuclear generator that was moved from San Clemente, CA to Utah.
This one starts off slow. May want to fast forward to 4:45 or 5:00

That is outstanding. I would have loved to have seen that. Or better yet, been a part of it. That's awesome.

I've seen those boys quite a few times on 80 in WY. No DOT#'s, no company name, nothing but Federal Plates. Usually have a 10' tall trailer and tinted windows all around. Normally I'll also run across 4-5 F450's outfitted as commo vans within a few miles of the trucks. Would be a nice gig to get.

I've mostly only seen those convoys between OKC and Nashville along I-40.
I did see a convoy headed south into Beatty, NV on 95 once.
I've tried like heck to Google search what that's all about. But found very little.
Here's the only links I found (great, now the FBI is going to be knocking on my door)
