I would typically only say something if I were screwed over or extremely upset by an event on the job, but I just had to tell every1 about Bee-Line. They have it figured out now it seems. I've been running for Bee-Line for just short of 2 years, and am still consistently bringing in decent paychecks every week. This past week, my wife (in Houston) unexpectedly went into labor....I immediately called my driver manager while I was in North Carolina to get booked on some freight home (ASAP)....no questions asked, she worked for 2 hours in the middle of the night switching drivers and loads around to accommodate my wife and my needs. I made it home just in time to see my baby girl being born (luckily for me she had a long labor time...not so lucky for her though). THANK YOU TO WHOMEVER SWITCHED LOADS WITH ME!!!
Bee-Line is small enough to have a "family first" atmosphere and the office really takes that to heart and can help you out when needed. They are tough on me and the rest of the guys, because they want us to make money, but when there's a family emergency I can be rest assured I won't miss a thing. I think the home time notice policy is that you have to give notice to your driver manager for regular home time 10 days in advance to be 100% assured of getting to the house. I've always given probably a month's notice, except for the recent birth of my baby girl!!!
If you go to work for Bee-Line, please give them my driver # so I get a referral!! Driver # 4412.

Hey Slick.... Congrats on the new baby girl. I have been looking at trucking companies in texas and Bee Line is one that I have looked at. Anymore info on them and how they have treating you and how is your home time? I'm thinking about getting my CDL, and from what little I have read on them, they sound like a good company to try to work for.
Again, congrats on the baby...

Hi Brian! I run OTR, and get to take every other 34 hour restart at home. Sometimes it works out where I will get two in a row at home, but typically being OTR, I will be out 14 days and off 2 days. Being in Houston, I get through the house at least once in the 14 day period as well. If you live outside of their lanes (TX, LA, GA, SC, NC, VA, MD, DC, NJ, OH, IN, IL, KY, TN) then you will only get home every 14 days. There may be a couple other states, but these are the ones I typically run through.

Thanks for the info

Slickricky, are you on their lease purchase program? If so, could you tell me a little more about it, what are your likes and dislikes, ballpark figures on weekly or monthly take home pay? Thanks!! and congrats on the baby girl!

Homebrew,
Yes. I am still on the Lease Purchase. The one thing I like, is that the company actually wants people to purchase the truck...not just take it for 2 years and then pull it back or make the driver quit by not giving them loads. The only thing that sucks about it is that I still owe money on the truck... I want to own this thing outright already!! Ha. After everything (truck payment, fuel, insurance), you should expect to take home $1000 per week. Then when you own the truck outright, you should be taking home $1400-$1500 per week due to having no truck payment. $50,000/year when under the lease, and then $65,000-$70,000 when you own the truck (assuming you stay running OTR). If you run regional Texas, you will make less but you get to be home every weekend. The company doesn't let the lease purchase trucks run regional...only OTR. Once you own the truck outright, you can run regional if you'd like.
Right now, I'm home (Houston) about every 14 days to take my 34 hour restart. I get to go through home once a week as I roll through town, but it is for no longer than 1 hour typically (if I'm lucky, I'll get a whole night). Otherwise, I have to wait approx. 14 days to spend any time at home. As you know, there are NO paid holidays, vacations, sick time, etc. when you own a truck so I have to run every day or I lose money to paying insurance, truck payment, etc.
If you have any other questions, definitely let me know. I'm here to inform. I want other hard workers to come over to the company with me!Homebrew Thanks this. -

Im interested about Bee Line!? What is the pay?? Paper or E logs?? I have my own truck, tag, and bob tail insurance; what other charge backs are there??
-
Homebrew, Perfect! Let me know once you hear back from Recruiting.
Losttrucker, I wrote to Homebrew earlier in this Thread about the pay. The Company is on paper logs. The only other charge backs I can think of off the top of my head are cargo ins, liability ins, trailer usage, occupational accident ins. If you apply, please give the recruiter my truck # 4412.
