    I've hauled many loads in my time that was exclusive use, just had to be there loads, only to get to the receiver and they say that they weren't expecting the load till the following week and make me sit till they can work me in!

    We see those every once in a while. But never not expecting till next week. Normally it is receiver is not 24/7 and driver gets a nap for 6 hours (on the clock) while waiting.

    What you are describing doesn't sound like expedite but more of a broker or shipper that play the urgent card. Have also had plenty of those. 06:00 confirmed appointment for a shipper that doesn't open till 08:00.

    I advise my customers to make sure they know their consignee's hours because from the time my driver checks in, his clock starts.
