I'm scratching my head on this one. From Boston to the furthest point in Ohio is still less than 900 miles. Even if you drove out to Buffalo and down.

Must be more to the story.
And only $450.00 for 4,000.00 miles?? If I'm doing the math right, that's about 11 cents a mile

It was actually from Council Bluffs to Chelsea market,.. straight shot. I swapped trailers with another driver who Iceman was with because they were having difficulty making the miles needed to get the load delivered on time. Iceman got in with me, I went to sleep because I had originally been driving from Allentown PA. Woke up 4 hours later and Iceman had pulled over and went to sleep himself right at the In/Oh border on I20 under the bridge. Anthony wont pay you for tolls except for specific ones,.. and I80 wasnt one of them. So I wasnt paying out of my pocket.
Anyway,.. Truck was not supposed to stop. In order to make the delivery on time the truck now could not stop for anything. I ran roughly 890 miles straight from where Iceman had shut her down. But I had a little over 1100 miles straight getting to Council Bluffs. 4 hrs sleep,.. then drove the 890 mi to Chelsea Market in Boston.
What they did to Iceman was wrong. Iceman is a young guy who needed a mentor to help guide him. I tried my best. But being young he is hard headed and being older I am short on patience at times. After making the Chelsea delivery (10 mins to spare) we headed up to NH for me to get loaded and for Iceman to bobtail another truck that needed to be in PA. After he got to PA he called me to let me know they fired him and left him in PA with no way to get home. I knew he was going to get canned,.. but they assured me that they would not leave him stranded and get him home. Iceman has the potential to be a good driver. He just needs to mature a little more.
That incident and another similar one to another younger driver was where I started to really hate working for this company. I knew that they could not be trusted to do the 'right thing'. So I knew when I quit it I had to make sure it was on my terms and not his.
Let me know how your making out Preston. I'm not angry with you. I was just disappointed with how everything went down. He pulled the same thing with Josh. Josh took the truck back to Tacoma and told him he quit. Anthony wanted him to work a couple more weeks. Josh said no and Anthony got bent out of shape. Then told him to get off his property or he would have him arrested for trespassing. Would not allow Josh to get his personal property out of the truck. Josh had to call the police,.. and even when forced to give him back his belongings,.. he did not give him everything back. He kept his GPS and his Ipad and said when he got his Laptop back it the hard drive was wiped,.. wouldnt even boot up.
My GPS like Josh's does IFTA E logging.
Look at the miles and dates on mine,.. this was typical daily miles for us.
No we didnt have a gun to our head to run the miles,.. but you would not have a job for long if you didnt. The only way to make the appt schedules on time was to run miles like that. The reason iceman was fired was because he couldnt put the miles down and was late all the time.

You have to wonder? If you had fallen asleep while driving, rear ended a Greyhound, killed a dozen people, would he have bailed you out of jail after they indicted you for manslaughter???
For that 11 cents a mile?
He'd probably say you stole the truck and he had nothing to do with it.
Why do drivers cover up for these dishonest company owners.
He gets all the gravy, with the turkey, while you get the shaft.chalupa, The Challenger and 58Skylane Thank this. -
THATS why I quit. He'll get a new truck from insurance,.. I spend 25+ behind bars. No way.
I called the operations manager one night and told him I couldnt go anymore. Too tired,.. "I'm bouncing off the rumble strips" I told him. He said to continue on the best I could. I pulled in to the next truck parking, turned off my phone and went to sleep. Talked about P.O.'d msgs when I turned my phone back on. Wish I had saved those voice mails from Anthony.
I shut my truck down a couple times and refused to continue on. It wasnt until later on after I knew the owner knew what I was capable of and wouldnt fire me. Wanted me to re-write pages so I could pencil in a 34hr restart that never happened. I do have that recorded and many others. It was one thing to write stories down when you had enough sleep to safely do it. But the more you gave the more they expected.
Drivers are destroying his equipment left and right. And its because they are so tired they cant see straight. Its only a matter of time until one of them falls asleep and kills someone. Thats my personal opinion. And sadly,.. Anthony will never take responsibility for it. Doubtful that any charges would even be filed directly on him. Just the driver will be left out to hang.
HurstThe Challenger Thanks this. -
im doing good jim but sadly anthony has made sure i cannot get another driving job nowhere because apparently i destroyed his truck and trailer im sorry to hear about josh and you and its sad about what happened to chris i mean even walter the 71 year old they put me with they treated him like garbage and yes i was left stranded yet again in nazareth pa at the great dane repair shop and anthony nor mark would call me a cab to the greyhound station in harrisburg the guys at the great dane shop were kind enough to give me enough money to catch a trian to harrisburg but i didnt have enough money to get a room until the bus started running down south again due to hurricane sandy i had to sleep in the streets of harrisburg for 4 days waiting on my final paycheck so i could buy my own bus ticket home anthony even told me that HE would buy my bus ticket but he did not hope ur doing well jim wish u the best of luck and have a happy new year
