Hello Fellas ,
I am about to make a decision on which company i should go start with.So , i can use any advice please ..
i live in orlando ,work in sales in a mall ..make around $1900 a month and have to go thru all the stress trying to sell expensive brand name products ..making sure my boss is satisfied with my sales ..who is watching every singe move ..so i got fed up with this situation..and decided that is time for a change/freedom/ a job in which i can breath freely ..
I decided to go trucking ..
So ,i made some researches, read some posts ,reviews on this website to which i am very thankful indeed..
Now,knowing that both prime inc and Millis transfer sponsor CDL training ...which one you guys think is best when it comes to pay, benefits in the long run ? as well as training ,treatment ,APU `s , miles .....etc...
I will appreciate any advice .thank you guys ....happy Holidays and be safe .
Millis transfer Or Prime inc ? which would you suggest ?

Don't limit your research to those two companies before you make a decision. MCT has a CDL school and also a terminal in Auburndale. Don't think MCT's schools are in Florida, but worth looking into. FFE has CDL schooling & 2 terminals in FL; Miami & Winter Haven. Stevens school has a good reputation as to being extensive & I think they have a terminal in Florida plus their trucks have APU's. I've hauled many loads of orange juice out of central FL and always saw many Prime trucks, but don't know how often a driver would get those loads.

Hey I'm kinda in the same boat. I live in Orlando and am making a change as well. I've pretty much set my sites on Prime inc. they seem to be the better of the "bad companies" to start out with. Or at least so far from what I've read. As far as FFE goes, the qualifications for the driver academy requires you to be a Texas resident. I don't know about stevens.

Make phone calls,
learn who hires from orlando !!
Millis doesn't,
prime might-depends on how many quit last week.
Look at the want ads,
companies that have terminals near you, and hire new drivers.Last edited: Jan 1, 2013

Hiring for Prime south of the I10 corredor is very on and off. They try to keep the numbers consistent with the amount of freight we have down that way so folks can get hometime. If you can use an address near I10, your chances of being invited to orientation are much greater than one near Orlando. Your best bet is to call the recruiters and ask them.

Also look into Mid Florida Tech for schooling. It's right there in Orlando, relatively inexpensive and supposed to have excellent training. It's a long course, but very thorough. I've heard nothing but good things.
