If its on pallets. Back when I drove for KLLM, I once had a load of Birdseye. It was all small packages, about 6x8 or so. They were loose loaded and had to be palletized at the receiver. It wasn't pretty and took forever. They normally had lumpers but none were on site when I arrived. I started to unload it myself and was really starting to hate life when the lumpers eventually showed up. I didn't get a dime out of unloading but was happy to give it over to the lumpers anyway so I could get some sleep since it still took a few hours for them to unload it.

Hi everybody. Another FNG here, am going to go the CR route for CDL. Was wondering though, do any of you have an indication or projection on loads for the next quarter or any kind of forecast for expectations for this year? After all the hub-bub in D.C. was wondering what anyone was thinking or expecting looking ahead.

Freight for Central slows down from New Year's until about tax time. It does it every year, people resolve to spend less and eat better, and we don't haul as much healthy food, so it's less freight. Beer stays busy, because people always drink beer. Late spring the loads pick up.
I don't know if the politics will affect how much we haul. Since Central hauls a lot of food items, we seem to be a little less affected than if we hauled building supplies, or luxuries. That doesn't mean we're unaffected though, so the next year will probably be interesting. -
gte tax rate went up for those making above 400g.
those making lower get a raise. -
onions are already palletized though. they just load the deck and unload the deck.

Actually Snowy. The Tax break we have had the past 2 years on Social Security and Medicade has ended. So Self employment tax is up 2%.
-
Payroll tax goes up 2%, but I believe the employer contribution was also down 2% to spurr hiring(feel free to correct me) so the self employment tax goes up by 4%.
