Mr daf you should help out the eu economy . Go and get one of those new euro 6 Dafs or whatever the Euro# is. With the dpf . And you could start a thread on how great they are.

How's the pie????????? Happy new year to you!

What's BS is my truck is FEDERALLY legal, but CA makes their own laws and my truck, after next year, isn't legal. If CA is gonna make their own rules, maybe they shouldn't get Federal tax money.

The "good" news is that those are becoming adopted by the EPA and several states have already the same or stricter Anti-Idling laws that began in Cali........

So we all will "share" in the misery......

    But what do expect?.....

Now in Cali there is a movement to ban Solar Panels and Wind Turbines by the Enviro-Whackos...

Solar panels-Because they capture not only light to produce PV power...But they also capture the heat from the Sun and release (Rocks and the Earth do the same btw) the heat at night..."Adding to Global Warming".....

Wind Turbines-Because some birds have been killed from the rotating blades.....
Never mind that birds of prey like hawks and falcons, kill more birds in a single day in the SO-CAL metro area in one day...Than all of the turbines have killed in 10 years......

Welcome to Insanity people...a world run by the inmates of the asylum....:biggrin_25526:

    And people with fake PhDs.

I'll put a PM filter on my truck after they put one on every burger joint in CA. (Proven fact, 1 hamburger produces as many emissions at a semi traveling 144 miles. )

    Funny you mention that.
They are actually right now looking at capturing the methane gas "delivered" by cows.(was on BBC World)
    Yup,a fartcatcher.:biggrin_2559::biggrin_25514:

    Look for yourself.
There's a small part in it ,about halfway, which gives a look at the future.
They show the lab where CARB is testing.

In Cali we have monitors that are on top of the ridges to measure the amount of methane generated by cattle flatulence.....

NO doubt CARB is going to mandate the equivalent of the EGR for cows in the near future.....

Actually they want the cows raised in climate controlled buildings with scrubbers to purify the air.

So what you are basically saying is that owner operators have never been payed enough to be able to have profitable business where they can upgrade their equipment like the competition. If the way of being able to run the business is by operating really old equipment then the business case is doomed to fail in 21st century. Look at the big US airlines which have been subjected to chapter 11 many times due old equipment that is not fuel efficient enough to compete with other international airlines and too old attract customers. You can also look at big mines where the contractor is only allowed to operate equipment that is maximum 5-7 year old as the mines are concerned about safety and the risk of old equipment breaking down.
It doesn't matter if you are a owner operator, construction equipment contractor or airline you need have the latest equipment to stay competitive as more people are concerned about health & safety and the environment.
