Okay, Okay I know it's tacky to talk about but the closer I get to getting my CDL the more I wonder...how much will I make my first year? I keep my expectations low. Besides, for me it's really not about the money...honestly. So, anyone wanna share wghat they made their first year? Personally, I'd be happy with anytghing above 25 K gross my first year. It's certainly not much, but it will pay my bills wghile I gain experience. So feel free to share. Tghanks. Dang I need to clean this keyboard. Whgat is tghat, syrup?

I've made 22.5k in the past 22 weeks, still in my first year (started in APR). YMMV, some people cant clear 350/wk, others keep it around 1000. A lot of it has to do with you.

That's very true. I stayed out 3 weeks at a time but always took a week off for home time

Flats usually pay more because its also more work. Tarping will suck at first, but once you get used to it, it's not hard. Our company pays for tarping so that's where I made some extra change

My income is somewhat skewed because I stay out 2-3 months and go home for 3-5 days. The upshot is by the time I go home I'm like a celebrity. Everybody wants to see me.

Read American Truckers Watkins Shepard thread he put a nice first year miles and pay summary. Many others have done the same.

Many will say 30-35 but stay on dm good side. Take load and don't complain. Organize your time make appointments and stay positive, pick one of the better companies and you can do better. Many have proven this....you do not have to accept less for yourself.

    DrtyDiesel and ladyfire Thank this.
