    Not sure if this is the best spot to post a (Want Ad)...gonna give it a go! Hunting a 4900Ex/4964Ex Western Star Lowmax with a Flat Top bunk... Prefer a CAT but will consider a Detroit...would like to stay pre-egr?
    Found two in Utah, 06 14L 515DD knocking 700,000...asking mid $30's,is that a decent price?
    Have heard horror story's on these engines...if I were to have a flash file put in the ECM and block the EGR wouldn't it be about like the older 12.7 pre emission engines??? Email pics to dieseldemon86@yahoo.com or (228)697-5265...

    Yes you can get the 14L egr engines to run very well especially when changing the VNT turbo as well. As for a Low Max with 700,000 Miles on it I'm think 30K is too high in this economy for that much mileage. Also depends on the shape of the truck and maintenance records/installed parts verification. If its a stock engine and drivetrain you could expect a clutch soon and engine could go any time or be good for another 300,000. Same thing for trans and rears could go anytime. Worn kingpins/axle are another wear item going around that time especially if they weren't greased religiously.

    Some people buy 10k trucks and never have to spend a dime over maintence other buy a 50k truck and get put out of business from repairs.

    Thanks underpsi! Was hoping you and SHC would chime in...with my luck I'd stick another 30k in it to make it what I'm wanting...ya have a great looking unit! Keep me in mind if you think of any?
