i left united oil right before they installed them and a driver there got fired because the camera caught him smoking in the truck so im sure they have a way of recording activities going on inside the cab another buddy working for cox explained the same thing you did about sudden jerking etc..another driver i met was fired by chevron for reaching for a cup of coffee and not having both hands on the wheel..united told us at a safety meeting the cameras would save them 34% on insurance rates..i agree with you gashauler dont need the extra pressure

Daycabs...sure. Sleeper trucks...doubt it will fly. We sometimes have our kids in our trucks WITH permission. It WILL fail with the first major lawsuit against the trucking company and the dashcam company when (even for 1 sec) gets a view of a child on it. So, go ahead and TRY. We live in a lawsuit happy world. If someone can get 1 million from McDonalds for hot coffee. How much do u think someone can get for "Kiddie Porn"? Get real folks. Be safe out there drivers.

Cameras pointed towards the drivers? Unbelievable! I can actually see why they are mounted to point towards the road, but at the driver? No clearer way to say we don't trust you. So if you do swerve, the camera kicks on, and you say to YOURSELF, " what a f$&@#%g a&& for cutting me off", you are going to get pulled in for using profane language?

A repeated objection that keeps getting raised is misguided IMO.
When companies have stupid policies the camera is blamed.
Talk about shooting the messenger.
Smoking , drinking , eating in a reasonable manner is no issue with us.
I have cameras in my trucks and although there was initial grumbles from the drivers , none left.
We don't pay attention to the scoring by the Drivecam bureau as this is way off any form of reality.
We get very few clips forwarded to us and most are non issues.
Some drivers have had none in months.
When we do get a clip and there is an error by the driver it is viewed in the broader context of their history and the severity there of.
I do expect drivers to make errors but not life threatening ones and not all the time.
We only had one driver that repeatedly made the same serious offense of harsh breaking.
He has now adjusted his driving style.
30 trucks with cameras and no drivers fired.
