Like I have stated they work with your business but what about everybody else? Just because something is good for you doesn't mean they are good for the rest of the drivers out here. Not everybody is in your situation.

I have never run E-Logs so I can not comment on that but as far as the CDL expires when the medical card expires, That has to be a state to state issue in my opinion. I quit driving in 09 and am getting back into it now. I have orientation with a company on the 7th of January actually and my cdl is current. I checked it myself as did the company I am going to work for. I have not had a physical card since 09. I have heard that before also but it is not true in Texas.

Well, other folks may have to do what I have worked at doing since '99.... structure their business to make it work under the coming regulatory structure. We don't have the luxury to just move our business' out of the country to avoid the regulations like the big boys do. I saw all of this coming even before the first HOS rule change that gave us the 34 hr reset. They were saying all along in the 90's that this was coming. There were hundreds of articles in trucking rags and lots of discussions on trucking shows that said it was coming. I wasn't about to wait until it arrived to start making an effort to readjust what I was doing. I have no doubt that an e-log mandate will cause a lot of problems for a lot of folks, and the whole thing is unnecessary. But, it is what it is. And there is still some time to work a different business model so the negative impact will be less. I understand the complaining about all of this, but complaining don't feed the bulldog. It is going to take proactive action to readjust what they are doing. You can blow me off as some sort of e-log lover or someone who doesn't give a rip about anyone else if that seems to make you feel good, but it will not change the facts for what they are. All of my examples of me being able to make it work is to show that if a person puts forth the effort to modify their operation, they can make it work and survive. It is not going to be easy for some, but that is the only choice they have at the moment.

It would be great if this would all go away, but living in a fantasy is not the way to go about things if you want to save your livelihood. Government is out of control, no doubt. The inmates have taken over the asylum. But that is all we have to work with. You can figure out a path to keep things going, or like the government may do, go over the cliff. It is up to you. I choose to not accept defeat. To allow the government to take down your business because you chose not to be creative and fight to keep it alive is the true defeatist mindset, and not the American ideal of facing a challenge and overcoming.

The information about logs is posted on trucker news by national traffic adm sounds like you need to check more sources and the medical card law goes into effect this year but dont take my word for it who really cares anyway

My company runs paper logs and hopefully e-logs will NEVER be in our future. We are a small company with less than 50 trucks and I
have heard rumors that less than 50 trucks does not have to go e-log. Hope that is true. PAPER FOREVER

I would love to see that remain that way especially for a one truck show.

    But I fear it won't.
