They want you to purchase the permit at the DMV. After they will teach you for the test then you go to DMV and take the test. They can't go to the DMV and get the permit for you you have to get it Understand? They are not asking you to take the endorsment test just to get that piece of paper at the DMV that says you have a CDL permit.

If you are needing the permit before you enter school, that is one thing. doubles and triple are NOT required for that. Sounds like you are trying to do ALL of the tests at one time. Don't do that. Take one test. then sit down with the book and read the section for the next test take that. Then repeat for the remaining endorsements you are wanting to get.
-
It may be that you just don't know how to take the tests.
Learn how to take multiple choice tests. The basics are this:
Most multiple choice tests have four possible answers. Two of those answers will be so wrong that you can almost tell they're wrong before you read them. Cross those two off and don't look at them again.
Now you're left with two possibly right answers. One of those two will be 'almost right'. Sometimes they're 'trick' answers. If you read the answers very carefully, you can spot the wrong answer. Which leaves one that's correct.
If you can't figure out which of the two is the right answer, flip a coin. You have a 50/50 shot at it. If one of the two is answer 'C', then choose 'C'.
You don't need a vast, in-depth knowledge of the test booklet to be able to pass the multiple choice tests if you learn how to take the test properly. -
General, air brakes, and combination. those are all you need to start learning, and all you need to start driving with someone. Well for me anyway, I can go back and do any of the endorsements after when I know which ones I will need... After you are done with school then worry about what endorsements you will need. Good luck

Thats what im thinking. People with zero mechanical knowledge have a harder time because they cant picture things. Just cause u remember the words drag link on a pre-trip dosent mean u know whare its located or what its purpose is. You have to see it.

Ask the DMV if they can have someone read it to you. Some people struggle with taking tests, what they read does not compute (my sister in law is like this). At the one I took my test at in PA they offered this service.

Depends on the school.. some schools require that you have the permit before walking in the door.. I prefer that because if you have a class full of dummies.. those who can pass these tests easily get bored and frustrated waiting for people who think they should be handed a license because they have a cowboy hat and chain drive wallet already on their person.
-
They shouldn't have... people with that type of learning disability should NOT be in charge of a 40 ton truck where situations and conditions and READING have a lot to do with no killing people!!!!

Get all endorsements now they charge more to get later

NICE!!! Sad but true.
