I really don't like dealing with lumpers. Just a pain, got to wait until they unloaded to get amount. Normally it's right up front.

In flatbed its easy dealing with lumpers. All you gotta do is this

Step 1: say you'll unload the trailer yourself.

    Step 2: unsecure the load

Step 3: do donuts in the parking lot till your empty ;)

I pulled van a few months for another company over the summer. Had to deliver at a Dollar General at 2100 and they said there was a lumper fee. I asked how much they said between 50-400 dollars but couldn't tell me until unloaded. Then they said if I didn't like that I could take a pallet jack and unload it myself. They seemed surprised when I said I'll do it myself. Unloaded the truck in about 35 minutes and got out. Finished before the truck next to me got unloaded by lumpers using electric ride on jacks. True story.

When I was in van division I did the same thing. Had only 15 pallets and they wanted $225. I didn't feel like waiting 4 hours. Was out of there in 40 minutes (I wasn't use to working hard lol)

Now I'd rather do the same thing but at least I wouldn't get tired lol.

Alrighty, got unloaded and parked at Walmart about half mile away without kicking into line 3. Just got preplan for Ashdown AR. 0800, 240 miles away, looks like US82 just about the whole way.

    kardolmer and DrtyDiesel Thank this.

Bah all the kids have plans to be at friends houses. So seeing the kids will be limited. Guess me and the girlfriend get the evening to ourselves.
