Its not asking too much to want to be home at least a couple times a month, and you can definately get that at Heartland. For the pay, the mileage pay is what they say it is. SOme drivers will say you won't get any miles, but you can make a #### good check at Heartland. I know. Even if you averaged on the low end of miles at 2200 per week, at 48 cents thats over 1000 a week and $55,000 for the year, running system. But you can get more miles than that if you know what you're doing. They also put out numbers on what drivers made for the year and it always ranges between 45,000 and 75,000. lot of long-term drivers at Heartland with 10, 15, 20 years.

Thanks for the info, Truthin. I filled out an online app, now just waiting to hear back from them. Do they run paper or e-logs? How long is orientation? Where? Thanks

Luckily my company gets us home almost on a weekly basis. We usually haul a load out of El Paso, then one back. Often one or two in between. Despite the violence in Juarez, the Maquiladora industry is thriving and nets us plenty of freight.

Want to know why drivers inquire about home time??...sometimes getting home to be with family or just needing a break from the truck is needed.

like I was saying they make it look great with higher pay but the runs are short & you spend allot of time in docks which they don't pay detention nor layover unless you are lucky by rubbing up to your dispatcher & getting something, they aslo have idle restrictions from 50-72,then if you idle too much your fuel average goes down then they lower the speed of the truck, will go as low as 60.You might get home for a restart in a couple weeks unless you run for weeks at a time & if its for any amount of time you clean out your truck & leave it at terminal, may not get that one back.
There is more but have to run.
