Where is the place for the 388? Do you want to drive a hood or not? If I was buying a Paccar aerodynamic truck I would buy the 579 or one of KW's. If you want a hood it's all or nothing = w900L or 379/389.

Yeah but with a "hood" you need a giant sun visor so no one can see you. And also a stick tall enough that you scratch your knuckles when shifting. Oh...and now I've seen stainless visir that glue on the top of the side windows.

Might as well stay at home with the blinds closed. lol

388 hood is about the same as a w900L. Park 2 side by side and nearly the same length

Ya, i'm going to take my Pete Spec, and give it to my local KW dealer. I've talked to a friend of mine who says that KW gets better concessions - not exactly sure why, but if its a cheaper truck, perhaps this is the way i'll go.

Are you doing a Paclease or just financing through the Pete dealership. Look at specing out a truck from a different manufactuer (find the balance of what you need between cost, performance, weight, etc) and take it to the finance guy at peterbilt. There is a good chance he will still do the deal for you. He wants to make his commission on the loan regardless of who you buy from. The other bit of ammo that you now have is that he has already told you what the terms will be, it will be harder for him to back down from it now because he doesn't know that you can't get the same or better rates from the other dealership, he just wants to make money. My financing is done through the kenworth dealership and I own Macks.

Look at the KW T800, Mack Pinnacle, WS 4900, Freightliner Cascadia. You will pay a lot for the Pete name and wont get anything in return for it that another truck can't also do.

I concur. I'm looking at the T800 right now as well. Pete prices were ridiculous. Freightliner tare weights are really low compared to other tractors as well, more payload for you.....
