I would be careful about hiring on with TTE. As I understand it, they have a very limited customer base and thus their driver turnover is high. I hauled gas in the Austin/SA region for 6 yrs and TTE was virtually non existent. They had a few company drivers and a few O/O and I did inquire with them a few years ago to hire on but never pursued it. I know an O/O who just quit them and said they don't treat their drivers very well and there was a distinct lack of business.
Of course its going to depend on your location but as one other guy mentioned you may want to look into Sun Coast. They are expanding in leaps and bounds. One of the fastest growing companies in Texas and they do pay well, by the hour.
    Good luck

That's correct. 49 CFR parts 100-177 subpart F Placarding §172.504 (f) (2) A FLAMMABLE placard may be used in place of a COMBUSTIBLE placard on- (i) A cargo tank or portable tank. You'll find the hazard class and UN number in §172.101 Hazardous Materials Table. Not to be technical here but all you drivers hauling hazmat should know this book. You've got to know at least where to go for the information. I know with my company if you do not know this requirement you do not work. It's a little hard to read but believe me it will protect you if you're in a jam.

Just got off the phone with Sun Coast recruiting and they said "we are not relocating any drivers, only hiring local" didn't want to talk to me about anything-sounds like the leaps and bounds have fizzled out.

Well, of course I'm only commenting on the rapid expansion of Suncoast in TX, so I've no idea what they are doing in NC. You may want to try Kenan Advantage Group, if you haven't already as they have a fuel delivery system in NC. I'm an O/O with one of their subsidiaries in Pasadena, TX. So far so good and I have friends who haul fuel for them in Austin. It's a good company to work for by all accounts in every phase.
    Good luck
