I tend to agree with JC. I worked for Averitt for 21 years. When I first started there it was the place to be. The longer I was there it seemed to go down hill. As the owner, Gary Sasser, slowly stepped aside and let the other mgmt take charge the respect for the drivers went away. When I left I had the frame of mind that it was just a paycheck. Lots of great people work there but the respect for the employees or "associates" as they call them just isn't there anymore. Not here to run Averitt down but simply calling it as I saw it.

Averitt to me is a company that lost it's way. They made their bones seemingly on being a competitive LTL carrier. Too much diversification and a subsequent loss of focus on any one area and you have a directionless company.
Had they focused solely on LTL, you'd probably have a company competing on a par with Old Dominion, Con-Way and others of that ilk. -
BS Alert, He just got canned. 13 years to figure it out, I don't think so buddy.

I am truly amazed at some of these so called drivers. When ypu work at a company for a long time and you tell the truth they accuse you of getting "fired". They are real quick to judge. Here is the deal "dryver" or should i say tipical "truck dryver". Some people want to better themselves. And some people like myself are good enough where they can pick where they want to go. For your information i went to a well known freight company by the name of estes express lines. Where i more than doubled my income. So next time you want to accuse someone from getting "canned" as you put it maybe you might want to think before you act like a typical "dryver". I mean are driver so shallow that they cant realize that maybe the company went downhill over the years. I guess this is why i make 90k a year and "dryvers" like yourself make alot less. How funny
