Well I had another killer week. Picked up in Murray, Ky to Lakeland, Fl./ Ochlockne, Ga to Richmond, Va/ Richmond, Va to Kansas City, Mo/ Olathe, Ks to WytheVille, Va. Should have 4216 miles from Saturday to Saturday. After I drop this trailer in Wytheville tomorrow morning I will just grab an empty and head home.
Next week I will pick up my first student on Tuesday and see how this training thing goes. I told them I would give it a shot with one student and see how it goes from there. I trained years ago, I'm just not sure my nerves can take it anymore. I'm kinda a creature of habit and set in my ways. At least the student I'm getting is a Former Marine, so at least we will have something in common. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Be safe and have a productive week.

Hi Runningman, You tell the good honest truth about where you work and I like your input. I remember you had a thread about Cheeseman, which job is better, Abilene or Cheeseman? And can you tell me why? Thanks for any help

In a way there two different animals, at Cheeseman you do a lot of multiple pick up and deliveries along with truck load. Here the majority is truck load with some multi stop loads. I really couldn't say one is better then the other really. They both run e logs and both have good equipment. There both about the same size and they both treated me well. I will say this though when I came back from working in the oilfield and was looking to go back OTR I had an offer from Cheeseman and Abilene..... I chose Abilene. Why? Something new and different I guess. In my opinion you can't go wrong either way.

    BFL123 and Strykor Thank this.

Hi guys. I have enjoyed reading your posts. I actually got a call today from a Michael at Abilene. I live in the Jacksonville Florida area. He explained the in's and out's of the hiring process, and that I would be hitching a ride to VA with a driver heading that way! LOL, but I'm sorry, that beats Greyhound ANY day in my book! I would pretty much be an advanced trainee. I have 4.5 years of otr experience, but came off the road for 5 years after/when my husband died. However, I am ready to get back at it. I am friends with one of your driver's wives. Anyway, I am looking forward to possibly coming aboard and most definitely getting back to work.
