i don't have a dog. just for those reasons. along with the other things that come with having an animal. LOL.

i don't feel the need to have a companion. or an extra mouth to feed.

but if i WERE to have a dog. it would be one of those that sits on the dash and bobs his head.

I love my Beagle, he's the most loving and best dog that I've ever owned and the fact that he was abused and still has so much love to give just amazes me...With that said I leave him @ home with my wife and our other dogs because I don't feel he would get the attention or exercise he needs in the truck with me. It's hard to leave my best freind at home when I know he wants to go with me, but I also know what's best from him.

My house doesn't smell like a kennel and neither would my truck for that matter, I would bet $$$ my truck is cleaner than most trucks on the road inside, I scrub my carpets weekly and never wear boots or shoes inside my truck at all...super OCD about being clean.

The best dog is the one that looks at you with love in it's eyes.

Seriously their are quite a few breeds of dog that have hair like a persons, they don't shed. Their are a couple of hypo-alergenic, no dander.

At the moment I almost wish the truck smelled like dog, lol, it smells like ham and beans (dinner for my husband, pb &j for me) I can't stand the smell of it, but he loves the stuff and it's easy to cook.

I leave more hair hanging around than the dog does, I use the dry doggie shampoo on him and on a day to day basis he probably smells better than we do (at least til we get to a shower). I fabreeze the tar outa the truck, not so it doesn't end up smelling like a kennel, but so it doesn't smell like a locker room.

Each to their own, I've overheard ppl telling my husband that he should have left me at home. But thats their opinion and everyone has one.

Dogo Argentino. Wild boar hunting dog. Doesn't bark or growl and extremely reserved. Also he is a brilliant frisbee dog

I have a ####er Spaniel that goes with me everyday. He is a great dog and loves to come with me on the road and he is a pleasure to have around. What in your opinion is the best trucking dog and why

My 7 lb toy poodle is a great companion and truck dog. Don't really give a crap WHAT all the dog haters out there have to say either. She doesn't have dander, doesn't SMELL, because I keep her groomed. She also has better hearing than I do when I'm sleeping. When I stop to potty, so does she. She is very happy as long as she's wherever I am.

Best dog is one that can chain and strap down a load of steel then tarp it while you have a snooze in the sleeper.
