We had an employee and a really good family friend that was left quadrapalegic ~20 years ago because something fell on him. He died ~5 years later due to pneumonia. He was securing the load while another guy was loading on the opposite side of the trailer. Some of the cargo fell off the trailer and crushed him. The loader operator never knew it until he finished loading. All in the name of trying to save a few minutes.

As drivers, there is a tendency to get in a hurry sometimes. I need to remind myself every day to be careful. And still stuff seems to happen. So yeah, be careful guys and girls.

Give it time, and you'll forget the most common stuff imaginable. Forgetting to unhook the gladhands when pulling away from a dropped trailer, etc. We have all done it, myself included. You're a human, not a robot. No human is perfect, so don't expect yourself to be. If every company was after perfection, none of us would have a job.

It can happen to any one. Had a deal years ago. Coming out of a jobsite with an mty. wind tower trl.
Going up a hill I spin out on the hill. Ok set trk. brakes. My 2 drive axles have maxi's. tag axle down as it is set up as a non lift.
I get out after setting the trk brakes like I stated. Go to walk to the rear trl to lock the sterring sytem so I can back down the hill.
Well the trk. starts passing me backwards..
No weight on the drives and down hill.
Got the door open and hit the foot brake with my one hand with the other hand holding the grab rail
Twisted my ankle, but it could have been worse.
