So, hubby is in training. He had that little fender bender while backing. His boss said they are back logged and won't know anything for a week or more but he could be terminated. Needless to say he is freaking out. But he is just gonna have to wait and see what happens. In the mean time his trainer is an owner operator that has kept him awake while he drives. (Trainer driving and doesn't want my hubby to go lay down) so he say oh no!! You can't go back there. You have to stay up here a d keep me awake!! And the trainer has also said that his main purpose is to get my hubby fired. USX will do their best the first year to get him to either quit or to fire him. Other than the general annoying stuff which he could handle these other statements really bother him. When he is trying to do his 10 hour reset the trainer won't let him sleep!!! This is terrible!! The trainer is so kind as to pull into a stop and park for 2-3 hours so my hubby can climb on the top bunk and sleep. Since he did have that fender bender and he is so scared of termination he doesn't want to make waves. He also just want to get his training done as out of the way. If he complains he will have to wait for another trainer. Just venting!! Sorry!!

your hubby trainer is a #####... thats all i can say
your hubby needs to call the training dept and report him for his safety....... he need to tell them just what is going on because he will get fired not for what happened but because his trainer is being a ##### and not doing his job.....
he needs to tell them EVERYTHING....
he can also tell safety that is trainer is making him lie on his logs... by fmcsa reg's he can only be in the jump seat MAX of 2hr's as off duty
we do have good trainers but this is not one of themSTap Thanks this. -
Well he got extra training for the fender bender. Unfortunately he will be with this guy for another 7 days or more. Then he will be matched with someone for a team. Until I go to school and get out there too. Then we will be together. I'm hoping he does report him cuz he is not very good.

I was going to tell you that he would get an extra 50 hours tacked on to his training. He should be telling the TC what is going on.
Usually I have to tell my trainees to get back there and sleep if we switch to teams.
And that trainer is an idiot. USX doesn't want him fired. That trainer should not be training. Tell your hubby to be sure and be honest when filling out the trainer evaluation form. Tell him not to fill it out until after he's off the truck, no matter what the trainer says.STap Thanks this. -
Thank you so much for all your in put. I was afraid that this was just one of those 'suck it up and quit being a baby' things. Good to hear that there are good trainers out there. I hope I get one. I so appreciate all the help everyone on this forum has provided me and other newbies and seasoned drivers. We can all feed off each other with tips and tricks that will help make this career choice a good one.

If you husband does not feel he can call, I think you should go to the US Xpress Drivers Facebook page and send a private message (button near the top, right) and explain what is happening and include the truck number. They WILL address it. The situation is totally unacceptable

Hi !! THREAD , I am a recent student and I would be going for orientation from CA to TX next week. I was wondering what kind of company is USXPRESS and do they really pay what they say on their website. Also do they have AUTO TRANSMISSION.
THANKS -
We were company drivers for two years and we were very happy with the company. The pay on the website is correct (other then the "up to .50 a mile for teams) they pay .48 a mile for teams with Hazmat. The .50 is supposedly counting layover and breakdown. You will get a manual transmission. 10 Speed, they are phasing out the automatics and there are very few left, if any, in the system.

Thanks!! That relaxes me a little bit.

Just curious... State taxes... I have my residence in Florida. USX is based (I believe) in Georgia. We have been thinking about moving to Pennsylvania... I know they have plenty of state required income taxes. If my RESIDENCE is based in a state that has state taxes, we are required to pay those state taxes, correct?
