I would agree with you on the service level.

The cat house has 13 locations, the one near me is open 7am 330 pm monday - Friday .

The kw dealer is open 7am to midnight . But emission problems are only done on the day shift. By the best techs . 7am- 330 pm. Night shift only does pms ,lights or brakes etc.....

CARB has exemptions that allow some small fleets (3 or less trucks) to run to 2023 with old trucks provided the carriers file for the exemption....

I'm not one of them.....I run "51% or more" outside of Cali (You can't make decent money running Intrastate in Cali btw...) So I don't even qualify for an APU refund from the various state programs.....

Also...CARB told me my truck has to be replaced in 2020.....It's an '09 that I bought brand new in '10.......To be compliant with CARB in 2020 according to the email they sent me after I registered with the Clean Trucks Program....I would have to have a truck with at least EPA 2010 technology.....

But you know CARB.....They think that the manufacturers are giving these trucks away.......

More and more people want him and his false promises, we - the owner-operators quickly becoming dinosaurs. Today its all about grabbing freebies - over 40% people are on some government programs. It's beyond addictive, no hope for cure...

The O/O is the "Enemy" of this gov't....We're Independent....That's not what they want...They want us to be drones hanging on to the wheel and doing exactly what we're told to do...

Ever wonder why the gov't is so eager to fund the Mega-Carriers CDL Mill programs?

Ever wonder why the O/O is the target of the mandatory EOBR.....That The O/O are usually the ones blamed for being the "Outlaws"?

Yet a CDL Mill trained Steering-Wheel Holder is held in high regards by the gov't........

I drove for Roehl for 13 months, NEVER had one inspection. Not even a level 3. Hauled several Oversize loads and never got looked at by DOT.

I've been talking to an independent that want's me to lease onto him, he gets pulled in all the time. He just keeps up on his maintenance and has never had a bad inspection, BUT he only runs Florida and Georgia.

I think it's extremely fudged up

Let us try real hard to keep this factual when some idiot pedals the BS about Obama remember these rules were all set in 2004, you remember george bush and a republican senate and house.
If you set up some switch that damages an inspector Laptop they will confiscate you truck for a while to have the system checked out, and you will pay the full bill for storage and a new laptop.
All the BS about them putting in delete programs is also BS when you plug into the computer it sources the computer and logs that, it is in the history.
Saying you should drill a hole in a Particulate filter that is not a restriction, it is homey comb, and it is worth a lot of money.
Doing anything to the emissions can void the warrenty.
Talk about keeping the truck for a long time is great but you are taking your self out of a lot of areas, not only California. also if you have a truck worth $20,000 it is not even close to a down payment.

    peterd Thanks this.
