If it's his first job, he has to drive for Watkins & Shepard for six months (van) before he can apply to the flatbed division. He also has to live within 125 miles of one of their terminals to be hired.

Try just setting the trailer brakes and not the truck brakes. Seems to work on some trucks out there.

What kind of truck do you drive? I have a Volvo and you can bypass the idle shut-off by setting the cruise control and bumping up the rpm a little. You can also do it by tapping the accelerator once, just as the truck is getting ready to shut-off.

Yes, it is all how the company has the computer set up. Mine will shut off after 5min idling. If I turn the cruise on and bump the rpm up it will idle in most places besides California. Pushing the yellow button in keeps it going and it has a certain temperature range were it will idle as well. It will idle when it is in the low 30s even in California. Thanks to gps tracking through Volvo link big brother is always watching and turns my truck off.:biggrin_25524:
