I was going to go with Stevens but afters weeks of calling the recruiter i finally got the truth out of them. 1. The there training cost $4200 and they take $26.84 a week from you for that for 3 years, and its a 3 year contract with them. If you leave before the 3 years you will be hit with the loan plus interest. 2. On top of the $26.84 a week they will take out another $25 a week to pay them back for there "Meal Allowance" and "Hotel". There training is NOT free, no matter what they tell you it is NOT FREE! You will be paying back the $4200 over 3 year period. They will tell you after the 1st year they will start to give you back the $26.84, thats a lie as well. Stevens has good training and great equipment, but i can not stand when people lie to my face when i ask a question. Oh and there pay as solo starts off at .26cpm and after 1 year is .29cpm. I believe it was close to 10 years with them to make .36cpm. Very low pay and low pay increases.

Well it is 14 days training at there school. Then you will be out OTR with a trainer for 4-6 weeks. I'm not 100% sure if u will be less time. How long have u been out not driving?

I'm not sure about Missouri but the school here is suppose to be good. You're training is "free" as long as you do your 1 year(120,000 mile) contact with them.

Well I am not going with them now. I ended up getting my CDL on my own with Tanker and Double/Triples endorsements today and passed!!! I start Monday at Raider Express for my 5 day refresher course. Then out with a OTR trainer for up to 28 days then I will be solo. With Raider Express there is NO contract and there training is only $900. They take out $75 a week to pay that back. I will ask them if they can lower that. But no contract and its only $900 sounds much better than $3000+ for FFE and other companies. The only down side is while OTR training I will only get .10¢ a mile, OUCH! But then once solo I will get .28¢ then after 3 months .29¢ then 6 months .30 then 1 year will be .31¢. I think it will work out with them because they are not a big big company like FFE and Stevens. 50-100 drivers. Nice trucks to.

I am in the same boat you're in!I was also looking at Central and FFE.I was very seriously considering FFE,but after hereing all the negative things on them,I am more confused than ever!Does anyone out there know if this is a good company to start with.I wanna get good safe training, and just get my 1 yr. in with a company.
I also live in Ft.Worth,so I heard that I would get through my area quiet a bit.Is this true?I also have heard alot of folks complaining about FFE's payroll department.Does anyone know about all of this????Please...any info. on FFE will be greatly appreciated!Thanks.:biggrin_255:
