Last week I had contacted Werner and applied for a driving job, since they didn't really do anything bad to me when I was a company driver(it all started with the family dollar dm's).I was told I was hired, let my boss know, and on my last day (Friday afternoon, was at the time leaving for oriontation sunday)right as I clocked out for the last time I recieved a call from Cindy in recruiting.Again with the "suspended cdl" issue,so I told her to contact Texas and they would send the needed paperwork to prove my cdl wasn't suspended.Well,it wasn't Texas as I was told it was before when I almost went to US Express,it was Ohio.During a period of time when I was unemployed they had my licence suspended for not paying child support, and when I returned to work they never lifted the suspention(I never knew it was suspended to begin with).

ALL I need to be able to get my cdl reinstated is a letter stating I will have a job from Werner if my cdl is reinstated, but they refuse to do it because they say that it's a violation of DOT regulations to hire someone with a suspended licence. If they would fax the letter I would have my licence reinstated before I complete oriontation.
Now I'm without a job, live 30 minutes from any town of any size(the town our address is in has 85 people in it and nothing more than a little store and a few gas stations)And Ohio refuses to reinstate my licence since I'm unemployed, and to add salt to the wound they contacted the local sherrifs department to let them know my licence is suspended since I threw a fit about it not showing up when they ran a background check for me after the first licence scare with US Express.

I need some advice guys about what to do about this,Since hubby is coming home after failing his wabi test we need the money that driving will provide. Are all trucking companies this hard nosed and un-helpfull?Even the person I spoke to at the Ohio dmv noticed that I was never notified.

never lifted the suspension........is this because you still hadn't payed child support? I think I would contact the authorities in Ohio and ask for an explanation as to why they never lifted the suspension. Or maybe contact an attorney or someone who is familiar with the licensing regulations in Ohio. Trucking companies have to follow D.O.T regulations. And they won't hire you with a suspended license. You might be able to find some legal information online somehow. I'm sure there are websites that will lead you in the right direction.

first I saw the forum listing then I didn't. And I got 7 hours of sleep so unless I'm having a conscious nightmare, it's here somewhere. It might be sub-listed under your original posting. You'll find it.

find out what you have to do to get it reinstated. It might just be an oversight and it might not be a big deal once you talk to them. I guess go online somewhere and find Ohio MVD and get in touch with them. Ask them how you would go about requesting the reinstatement. Maybe you have to do it in writing with a letter. There's gotta be a solution I would think to this dilemma. Believe it or not I have to go to work now. When I get in later I'll look online and see if I can come up with something that might help.
