Looking for info on System Transport or Watkins Shepard. I live in Montana, and am interested in both of these companies. I am a newbie, and am looking for Veteran friendly companies, and as much work as possible.
All advice is appreciated.

Just the basics, do they hire newbies, how happy are the drivers, how are the miles. I'm not one of the guys who wants a lot of hometime, how hard is it to stay out for a few weeks. Do you enjoy working at System? I would prefer to work in the western rockies, and northwest. Is this possible??

My advice is to do your homework. Look for facts. Go on the website : http://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/. Look up safety scores. This will reflect how the companies take care of their equipment, one companies standards may be better than the other. As a newbie you should be aware of how certain things will effect your CSA-2010 report once you go to work for them. Your score will have an impact on your future hiring status with other companies.

Thanks, I looked at both of them, and from what I can see, both have pretty good ratings. So Ill contact both of them. I would like to know from their drivers, if anyone is reading this thread, How happy they are with either company! While as a Noob, I don't really have the right to pass judgement on any company, I am trying to avoid companies like CRE who have pretty bad reviews on here. Again, all info is appreciated. Thanks! -
I've heard DAC report much more important than CSA, as by now everyone knows CSA has flaws, also big million dollar lawsuit against hire right for bogus info on DAC reports, so I like that.

they hire newbies they even have their own school. pretty sure if you dont go through their school then you need 6 months otr but dont quote me on that. the miles are good ive put on around 12,000 so far in just over a month. i havent met a driver yet who doesnt like working here they say that once you hit the 5 year mark the turnover rate is about 0 and i believe it. you can stay out as long as you want pretty easily and since they are based out of spokane you will see tons of the northwest and montana. they have a northwest regional but those guys tarp all the time sometimes 3-4 times a day and they have to use the heavy blue tarps not the normal red ones. overall its a good company. the trucks all have apu's on them and are outfitted nicely. heck i am new to them and after going through a securemnt training with a trainer for a couple weeks was put in a 2012 kw 660 and im happy with itCjh_army, jomar68 and readyletsgo Thank this.
