I've worked for maverick and Boyd. Here's the deal. With maverick you get better flatbed training and better equipment. But they have their ways. Which is "the maverick way". No wavering. And there ate ppl that will rat you out if you don't follow. For example, I can't work for maverick right now because my hair is too long. No lie. Since you're a military man you should have no problem adapting. And the ppl there are fair. Boyd is basically the exact opposite of maverick. From training, to equipment to freight. If I had a choice to do either again, it would be maverick...hands down. If like to be a little different, get into maverick's glass hauling division. More fun. Thank you for your service. I did 10yrs in the navy myself. Good luck to you.

Da goose, please sir, if you can. Stay where you are. Make a career out of it. I should have. Cant go back now put on too much weight. But for a vet We have to be careful the krappiest folks hire us like they love us like family, but they just want the tax benefits. So from a vet to a vet stay where you are. If your truly army like I was, then you'll be hard headed and do it anyways. Thats army for you. I was 88m. It didnt help me out any though. But maverick has to much shizzle intheir trucks. All about safety and rules. Too much for a rookie. TmC is good stable company and will let you use your GI bill for an extra paycheck for a year if you train with them, but ther trucks go to slow and have these collision system things on the bumper that will slow you down if you follow too close. Im looking at going to MElton. If you go with them you may have to use the VA Voc. Rehab to pay for cdl school like I did. That way you aren't stuck with a contract for a year because they trained you. You can go where you want when you want. Theres a lot of BS out here my friend and for me it was hard to cope with at first. Civi's are stupid. I started at Roehl when I started. They were fairly high pay for fresh out of school. Right now out of school you should try to get as close to thirty two cents or higher if your flatbed and thirty cents per mile for everything else. Good luck in your transition. I know its tuff but possible. HOOAH

Ha I was on the fence with TMC or Maverick so I flipped a coin. I am a Vet with 13yrs as a 19D in the Army, stellar driving record at 40yrs old, no criminal background and never unemployed longer than a weak in over twenty yrs. I filled out my application for TMC and just finished CDL school with high scores. Haha Tmc said the declined my application and they couldnt tell me wy? I am confused about it but thats ok because Maverick is doing my background on everything now and the recrutor is saying he's just waiting for my info from my CDL school and then we will set up an orientation. I am in no way mad about TMC declining me it just wasnt ment to be I guess but Maverick will recieve my unwaivering loyalty and dedication, my military profesionalism, respect and my top notch work ethic. I just wonder what it was that made my app get rejected LOL

I wouldn't sweat it, it will not reflect in a bad way on you. Some 'hiring areas' are slow. You may not even be in their current hiring areas.. It's just logistics, as far as that goes..
Thank you for your service, sir. -
Thanks for your support, I am not sweating it tho I was just wondering and I guess I am in thier hiring area. I am excited tho to hear from the recrutor for Maverick, they sound like a realy good company.

tmc did you a favor by not hiring you,not unless you like the people in the inspection lanes to go through your personel stuff. i never understood that.
