Martin, how much deck does the load take up, any chance to open it one hole and not look ridiculous? If you are open, they will give you a permit otherwise probably not. The scale in Shasta/Dunsmuir for me has been worse than any other been level 1 inspected there the last 2 times through, check the map on caltrans dot site as there are some roads in that eastern area of CA that designated "CA" routes and they enforce the 65' overall length limit. I would try opening the trailer or permitting for weight if it is a single pc and say it came up light.
Ronleftlanetruckin Thanks this. -
Also, I did get a permit to run my flip down in CA last trip and I was only 10 wide and legal weight. So you could try to permit for like 8' 4"

Are your 3 axles in succession.....closed tridem, not a spread???? I believe that makes a difference as well. If its closed you should be ok. Not sure, but if I was you, I'd call CA DOT and just get the answer. Also make sure to get the name and badge/employee # of whoever you talk to.
leftlanetruckin Thanks this. -
Thanks guys.
Our permit gal says no go unless over weightetc.
I am also hoping it needs another 3 feet in the well too!
Axles are 4'6 center to center on the trl.
Pia for sure!
Many thanks
