I'm average but far from slothish. I work in food service distribution and fingerprint every case we deliver, not with a pallet jack either.
I'm 22 and on the verge of having high blood pressure so I'm glad I started my new job in food service. I've lost 8lbs since Tuesday of last week. Pretty big accomplishment for me personally

I called prime about a driving position, the first question out of box was what is your height and weight. I thought this was very offensive, I asked why. I was told they need to know my BMI, as I told her she said I would need to take a sleep study and buy a sleep apena machine which all is very expensive, around $2,500.00 for the test and machine. I am 5'5'" and 200 pounds. I run two miles at least once a week, lift weights, very stocky build and shes telling me I need a sleep study. From what I read this is not a proven science, there is very little info about being a high BMI related to sleep apena. You can be 6'4" 180 pounds and have sleep apena. Long story short I found anopther company without all this ######## and have been driving for two years. What a scam Prime is, stay away.

I'm happy the company I'm with doesn't do any sleep study or sleep apnea stuff. They will only do it if it gets mandated by the FMCSA. Plus even then the company pays 100% of the cost of the sleep study AND the cpap machine. So it wouldn't cost me a penny. Till then, ill focus on keeping up on losing weight

By now everyone's heard about this idea to eliminate the stereotypical trucker from the industry in the near future with strict BMI adherence and so forth, but what I haven't heard is where the people proposing this plan think they're going to get the 100lb. vegetarian drivers they expect to replace them. That said, there are some walking coronaries visible at every truck stop I've ever visited, and I can't think of a single industry where so many workers are so obviously unhealthy. The characters waddling through the parking lot of your nearest Flying J to refill their 1 gallon mug with soda and pick up another another carton of smokes is exactly what I'm talking about... These are the people they're trying to put out of trucking, but the ideas they're pushing now would leave even a slightly chubby guy out of work. Something's going to have to give and if it's the truck stop waddler, I could easily live with that, but again, where will the replacement driver come from?
