I was just wondering if any of you out there own a Fitzgerald Glider kit. I have been thinking of getting one, and would like to know of any good or bad with the truck.
    Thanks for the help.

    Safe Miles,

    Larry

Been seriously considering doing the same thing , have read alot about them and they seem to be a good company. Just have to figure out which ratio and trans combo work best with the 12.7 DD Good luck in your endeavors .

I live in TN and they have a really good reputation around here. Even on the used market the trucks are thought pretty highly of. If I were in the market for a new truck they would be my choice! They even upgrade the exhaust manifolds and turbos to get better performance out of the engines. If it were me, I would spec the high flow mufflers and 8 in stacks and then have the ecm tuned after I bought it. IMO, you can't get a better truck than one of their gliders. No way I would buy one of these new engines!

I have been looking at the Coranado Condos. I used to own a 2003. Loved the truck, and sold it with 500Kon the odometer. Until I started reading up on Fitzgerald I hadn't even thought of a Glider. I had been considering a 2013 Volvo 780 with an apu. The one I speced out was $164K. Fitzgerald, with the same apu, $128K out the door, no FET, also No Cali. I really don't want to go there anyway. But still want to talk with someone who has one. I taled with about 3 guys I met on the road....all three were very happy with truck, and Fitzgerald in general.
Thanks for all the replys guys..

I was there last week looking at some different trucks and trying to get an idea which I really want, they have a bunch of trucks ready to go and yes they have the pete's too. I've allways bought pete's and kw's but I like what they are offering with the coranado and the price is in the ball park, I'm probably gonna get a coranado just because of the price and the fuel mileage and enjoy having a motor once again without all that extra crap on it. The only draw back/ blessing with these trucks is there is no more california but I removed that page from my rand mcnally years ago.

I got my glider from Harrison Truck Center near Waterloo, Iowa. They, unlike Fitz, are a full Freightliner dealer. Why not cut out the middle man? You would have to take what Fitz offers, or have them order a glider made up the way you want it. Why not just go right to a Freightliner dealer like Harrison, have access to the complete ordering package system from Freightliner, and get the truck made up the way you want it, right down to the brand of wheel seals and hubs. Well worth the wait to get EXACTLY what you want with no compromises. Harrison Truck is the second largest glider seller in the nation. Last time I checked (last fall), they were doing roughly 8 gliders per week there.

One thing you can do that would be a pain for Fitz to do and cost you more, is a complete different painting of the undercarriage. Doubles your corrosion resistance. Only $285 option when ordered from factory. More complete because they do it at factory with the body off the chassis. Only bad thing about ordering is the lead time. It is long. But you get exactly what you want.

Financing was easy. I used GE Capitol. Quick single page form, no supporting paperwork, and approved in 1 hour.

    BigBadBill and Larryparker Thank this.
